The Best Trailer
The Detroit: Become Human trailer is one that set's up the viewer for suspense. Before buying the game, the cinematic storytelling hooks in the viewer. Personally, it's one of my favorite trailers because as I watched the "Kara" trailer a few years back from Quantic Dreams- to finally seeing this rendition years later. I was completely blown away with the amount of options the game has to offer and I was so emotional upon watching it, it was more than what I asked for. The game play is introduced suddenly and flows so nicely alongside the narrative. You're put in Kara's position and it gets your adrenaline going very quickly because of it's use of dialogue, body language, scoring, as well as fear. It's hard to watch a trailer where you genuinely feel heartbroken or fearful- especially with game genre's which that as it's intention. You don't need something gritty and hardcore, something intimate and threatening so that it causes agency ...
